Posted by Cindy Cunningham on

They say the best things are free – so why not take advantage of the skin care products you probably already have sitting around in your cupboards and on your shelves at home? You do not need to spend an arm and a leg to have the best skin care products out there. Here are some of the best of the best skin care recipes that are tried and true.

The Most Natural Face Lift

If your face is in need of a bit of a “pick me up”, you may want to try this apple cider vinegar-based face lift to take some years off of your face. All you need is:

  • A spray or spritz bottle
  • Apple cider vinegar

Mix the apple cider vinegar in with water so that it is one part vinegar, one part water. Put the water in the fridge in the spray bottle. After you clean your face each morning, pat your face dry with a towel and then spray the chilled apple cider vinegar and water mix onto your face. Allow it to dry, and then follow up with your normal application of moisturizer. Within 2 week time you will notice firmer, more toned skin!

Sugar and Milk Body Scrub

Want to get silky smooth? Then give this body scrub a try! The sugar and milk work together to create a natural exfoliant that will remove any and all dead skin cells from your skin. All you need is:

  • ½ cup of Sugar
  • 1 cup of Milk (you can use cream instead if you have dry skin)
  • 1 cup of mild shampoo or body wash (you can also use castile soap or baby shampoo for more sensitive skin)

To prepare, all you need to do is mix all three ingredients together, and to mix it very well. Place the three ingredients into a squeeze bottle. From there, all you need to do is to apply the scrub to a wash cloth or loofah, gently scrub you skin, and rinse.

DIY Pore Strips

Forget paying tons of money for those pore strips that they sell in stores. You can make your very own, and all it takes are two ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon of knox gelatin
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon of milk

Mix the two ingredients in a bowl, and the microwave for 10 seconds, or until a past is formed. Once it is a paste, apply it to your nose and chin and allow it to fully dry (this may take up to 10 minutes). Gently peel away from your skin, and you will be able to see just what impurities have been clogging your pores!

Naturally Fuller Lips

Don’t even tempt those thoughts of getting collagen injections. You can naturally plump up your lips with just a couple simple ingredients:

  • Cinnamon
  • Vitamin E

Mix the cinnamon and vitamin E together so that it is 1 part cinnamon and 3 parts vitamin E. Place the ingredients in a microwaves safe jar, and warm it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Shake the bottle until the ingredients are blended, and then drop a very small amount of the mixture onto your fingertip. Rub the mixture onto your lips every two hours to enjoy fuller, more supple lips.
