Dandruff

Dandruff is an irritating and often embarrassing condition of the scalp where the scalp is extremely dry and results in itchiness and silvery flakes. Dandruff is particularly bad during the harsh winter months. Left unchecked the scalp can become infected and lead to thinning hair and even hair loss.
Causes of Dandruff
There are many things that can contribute to dandruff. Some of the most. common culprits are overly harsh shampoos, bad hygiene, bad diets, hormone imbalances, exposure to extreme weather conditions, and/or stress. Alternatively, dandruff can be the direct result of other skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis.
Easy Home Solutions for Dandruff
Lime and Honey Hair Mask
Before shampooing hair apply a hydrating Lime and Honey Hair Mask by mixing 1 tbsp of fresh lime juice and 3 tbsp of raw honey. Apply mixture to your scalp and let sit for 20 minutes. Shampoo well and rinse with lukewarm water.
For best results use this mask 1 - 2 times daily.
Moisturizing Neem Oil
The Neem leaf
contains anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory properties making it the perfect weapon for combating dandruff. To make your own Neem oil add a hand full of Neem leaves to coconut oil and bring to a boil. Stir in a few drops of fresh lemon juice and allow to cool. To use gently massage oil into the scalp at night before bed. Leave on overnight and then rinse out the next morning with lukewarm water.
Fenugreek herb for dandruff
Soak fenugreek seeds overnight and grind it into a paste. Apply this on your scalp, keep it for 45 minutes, and then wash it off with a clarifying shampoo.
